Introduction

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses. This course is designed to meet the needs of builders and managers of low-rise building businesses. Further development in our on-site and practical work area and experience on real construction sites of our industry partners; you will gain top quality practical experience.

We provide aim to prepare our students for the workforce. This certification is offered as an on campus course, meaning students will spend time learning in class for theory knowledge and practice skills.

Our graduates of this course are well developed in advanced building techniques and operations management, with highly valuable on-site experience from our residential and commercial construction projects in the city.

Course Duration

Birger International College will deliver the 19 units of the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction over 56 weeks.

• 48 weeks of full-time study with 20 hours of structured, training and assessments activities each week.
• 8 weeks of holiday and breaks.

Delivery Mode

All training is delivered by face-to-face in Classroom over a period of 56 weeks.

The delivery of this course is based on the principles of adult learning; participants will be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and practice their skills by participating in all or some of the following delivery methods: face-to-face, structured, self-paced learning and online research.

Self–study hours must be allocated towards the various tasks such as research work, assignments, projects, reading notes and preparing for assessments.

Pathways

Upon completion of the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, graduates may undertake other trade qualifications or progress the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or other qualifications.

Course Structure

For students to acquire the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction ,
students must have successfully completed all units.

Entry Requirements

All overseas students entering this qualification must have an English Language proficiency level of one of the below:

• IELTS band score of 6.0 (Academic or general version) or equivalent internationally recognised exam result, or
• IELTS band score of 5.0 (Academic or general version) then Satisfactory completion of ELICOS or ESL up to 20 weeks at upper intermediate level or
• Upper Intermediate (General English) or higher certificate from a CRICOS registered English language training provider
• In the 2 years before commencing the course, has completed secondary studies equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification from an English language speaking country.
• In the 2 years before commencing the course, has completed, in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate III or higher level.
